President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree that enforces the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding sanctions against traitors.
This was stated by the president in his video address on Telegram.
"I have just signed a decree that enforces the NSDC's decision on sanctions. We are blocking propagandists working for Russia, individuals who have switched sides, and those who assist Russia in continuing the war. We are also continuing to revoke state awards. The title of Hero of Ukraine should only be held by those who truly dedicate their lives to Ukraine," the head of state noted.
Zelensky added that new sanction decisions are currently being prepared.
"They will be announced soon," the president promised.
According to the appendix to the published decree of Zelensky, the sanctions list includes 18 individuals. Among them are: people's deputies Nestor Shufrich, Yuriy Boyko, leader of the banned party "Ours" Yevhen Murayev, as well as the head of the banned Communist Party, Petro Symonenko, former MP Oleg Voloshyn, and former MP Leonid Baisarov. In particular, Boyko has been stripped of the title of Hero of Ukraine, which he received in 2004 "for outstanding personal merits before the Ukrainian state in the development of the fuel and energy complex and many years of selfless work."
President’s representative for sanction policy Vladyslav Vlasuyk detailed the document on Facebook.
"As a result of the sanctions, the following individuals have been stripped of state awards: Yuriy Boyko, Nestor Shufrich, Leonid Baisarov, Leonid Litvynov, Oleksandr Odnoralenko, Yevhen Horokhov, Yuriy Bashmet, Vasyl Herello, Serhiy Karyakin, Vadym Pisarev, Ilya Reznik, Ruzhena Rubleva, Viktor Sadovnychy," he informs.
