Ukrainian officials view a potential victory by Donald Trump in the U.S. elections as akin to a casino game with high-stakes bets, where Ukraine could either gain significantly or lose everything.

As reported by The Guardian, Ukrainian officials are concerned about Donald Trump's stance, as he has repeatedly attempted to block aid packages for Ukraine in Congress and has promised to push for a deal between Moscow and Kyiv before the inauguration of the U.S. president in January.

According to the publication, one senior Ukrainian official explicitly stated that Ukraine is "worried about Trump."

"Everyone understands that Trump doesn't care about Ukraine, and that his presidency will be like a trip to the casino for Ukraine: we could win big or lose it all," a source within Ukraine's security structures told The Guardian.

However, he noted that fatigue from the war is building, and some are ready to take such risky bets.

"Trump is useful to Putin because he can create chaos, but he can also be ineffective since Putin doesn't like when others take the initiative," the source said.

U.S. Elections and Ukraine

Competing for the presidency are Democrat and current Vice President Kamala Harris, and former American leader, Republican Donald Trump.

Harris has promised to assist Kyiv in countering Russian aggression if she wins the election. Trump, on the other hand, has expressed skepticism about aid to Ukraine and suggested that the Ukrainian government could have avoided the war. He has also promised that if he wins, he could quickly bring the conflict to an end.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed whether former U.S. President Donald Trump would stop providing assistance to our country if he wins the election. He expressed hope that the Republican would continue to support Ukraine.
