The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky seeks to discuss Ukraine's NATO membership with U.S. President Joe Biden once again.
This was stated by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, in an interview with Suspilne. According to him, Ukraine has repeatedly surprised the world, particularly with unexpected operations on the front lines, which is why the conversation about NATO membership will take place.
"It is important for the president and his team to do everything, and even more, to achieve results. Undoubtedly, the president wants to talk to President Biden again to convey that he has this opportunity while he is still in office and has the legal means to take a significant, historic step, and to close the chapter of over 20 years of promises. Every year we receive promises, the wording changes, but the main thing is still missing — to extend an invitation to Ukraine to join NATO," Yermak stated.
The head of the President's Office added that Ukraine deserves to be a NATO member after years of fighting against Russian occupiers, particularly during the three years of full-scale invasion.
