The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, has labeled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as an enemy of his state.

According to Dennik N, during a meeting of the parliamentary economic committee, the politician once again threatened to block any decisions regarding aid to Ukraine. Fico demands that Kyiv continue the transit of Russian gas through its territory, planning to discuss this with the European Commission on January 30.

The Slovak Prime Minister views Zelensky's remarks about the possibility of gas transit from Azerbaijan as a "cover maneuver" and accuses him of harming Slovakia:

"What else can Mr. Zelensky say, other than talking about some gas from Azerbaijan? Nothing is ready, there isn't a single project on the table. He is once again inflating bubbles, thinking that this will free him from making tough decisions. Our enemy is Zelensky. Zelensky has created the problems we are facing."

Fico's Threats to Ukraine

It is worth noting that the Slovak Prime Minister has begun to criticize the Ukrainian authorities even more actively after Kyiv halted the transit of Russian gas through its territory.

Zelensky has stated that Fico was presented with options for resolving the conflict, but he rejected them. At the same time, the Slovak Prime Minister continuously threatens that Bratislava will respond to the cessation of transit. In particular, he promised to stop providing assistance following the massive shelling of Ukrainian energy facilities.
