The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, promised that his team would declassify documents related to the assassinations of the 35th President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

As reported by CNN, this statement was made during his speech at Capitol One Arena in downtown Washington. During his presidency, the politician did not release the complete set of records related to Kennedy's assassination, as required by national security agencies:

"In the coming days, we are going to release the remaining records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other topics of significant public interest."

It is known that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom Trump appointed as the new Secretary of Health and Human Services, is the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert Francis Kennedy. He was killed in June 1968 by gunfire.
