The President of the United States Donald Trump will hold a meeting today with his top national security advisors, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. According to The New York Times, a representative from Trump's administration stated that the meeting will address and potentially implement measures regarding several policy options for Ukraine.

"These options include the suspension or cancellation of American military aid to Ukraine, including the latest shipments of ammunition and equipment that were approved and paid for during Joe Biden's presidency," the publication reports.

As NYT reminds, during a meeting in London on Sunday, Zelensky received gestures of support from 18 gathered leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

However, behind this display of solidarity lies the acknowledgment that maintaining support from the United States remains critically important.

"Starmer has two objectives," said Mujtaba Rahman, an analyst at the political risk consulting firm Eurasia Group. "To create a proposal with Ukrainians and Europeans that allows the U.S. to positively engage in ensuring Ukraine's security, while simultaneously preparing for the worst-case scenario where that may become impossible."

The U.S. Threatens to Halt Arms Supplies to Ukraine

The WSJ forecasts that without U.S. military assistance, Ukraine will have enough weaponry to continue fighting against the occupiers at the current pace until summer.

The Telegraph's defense and foreign affairs editor Con Coughlin notes that one should not underestimate Zelensky and Ukraine, as the country's situation was even more dire in 2022. Coughlin reminded that at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Kyiv's forces were practically alone, and thus, with European support, they are unlikely to falter now.
