During the controversial dispute in the Oval Office of the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acted appropriately by attempting to explain the situation regarding the war in Ukraine to two U.S. leaders. This opinion was expressed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as reported by The Guardian.

"It is important to present the facts as clearly as possible at every opportunity," Trudeau emphasized, explaining why he supports Zelensky's actions in Washington.

The Canadian Prime Minister highlighted that Russia did not invade Ukraine for the first time in 2022: it violated an already existing ceasefire that had been previously established. Moreover, Trudeau noted that Russia could end the war at any time if it simply stopped its attacks.

"On Friday in the Oval Office, President Zelensky pointed out in many words that Vladimir Putin is a liar and a criminal, and his promises cannot be trusted in any form because he has repeatedly shown that he will violate any agreements. I stand with Volodymyr Zelensky and I support the people of Ukraine," Trudeau explained.

Zelensky and Trump's Dispute: Global Reaction

As reported by UNIAN, Thomas Jäger, a professor of international politics at the University of Cologne, believes that Trump staged the dispute in front of the cameras to publicly humiliate Zelensky. Initially, Vance and Trump angered Zelensky, and then "bit back."

We also reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky in London the following day, advised him to mend relations with Trump. According to Starmer, any peace will not last long without U.S. guarantees.
