The rollercoaster of Ukrainian stocks continues: WIG-Ukraine surged by 15.3% on Friday.

The WIG-Ukraine index of Ukrainian stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) experienced a decline of 9% on Wednesday and 6.38% on Thursday due to news regarding the conflict between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. However, on Friday, the index rebounded sharply by 15.29% amid reports of a potential return to constructive Ukrainian-American relations.

The WIG-Ukraine index of Ukrainian stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), which dropped by 9% on Wednesday and 6.38% on Thursday due to news regarding the conflict between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saw a surge of 15.29% on Friday amid reports of a potential return to constructive Ukrainian-American relations.

According to WSE data, the shares of Milkiland increased by 12.14% on Friday, while the agribusiness holdings "Agroton" and "IMK," with land near the front, rose by 7.88% and 21.09%, respectively. KSG-Agro's shares climbed by 9.43%, and Astarta, the largest sugar producer in the country, saw an increase of 10.62%.

The shares of Coal Energy (all these stocks are part of the index), which have halted operations due to the war, appreciated by 12.42%.

Additionally, shares of the largest Ukrainian oil producer, Kernel, rose by 14.39%, although they do not belong to the index due to a low free float, having previously dropped by 26.12%.

On the London Stock Exchange, shares of MHP, the largest poultry producer in Ukraine, increased by 1.65% on Friday, while shares of the mining and metal company Ferrexpo gained 11.43% after a decline of 30.41% the day before.

The eurobond market continues to exhibit pessimism: depending on maturity dates, their prices decreased by 0.5%-3.1%, and GDP warrants fell by 1.54%.

As reported, the WIG-Ukraine index plummeted from 574.37 points to 361.98 points on the first day of the war, February 24, 2024, and fell below 200 points in May 2024.
