In 2023-2024, Ukrainians contributed 64.8 million UAH in voluntary insurance premiums to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, as reported by the Ministry of Social Policy.
"Such contributions can be made on behalf of oneself or on behalf of others. It's easy and convenient to do this, as there is no need to visit government institutions or sign paper contracts; everything can be done online from home," the ministry stated.
The department noted that this option may be appealing to individual entrepreneurs who pay the minimum unified social tax (UST); Ukrainians who have moved abroad; people of pre-retirement age who have lost their jobs due to the war and cannot find new ones; and those with unofficial income.
"To qualify for one full month of insurance experience, the amount paid for that month must be at least the minimum insurance contribution, which is 1760 UAH. If a person pays twice the contribution, their pension will be calculated based on double the minimum wage," the ministry reminded.
As reported, in March 2023, the option to pay voluntary insurance contributions to the Pension Fund was introduced, allowing individuals to increase their insurance experience.
