American company Tesla is recalling approximately 700,000 Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles, as well as Cybertruck electric pickups.

The company reported that it has identified a fault in the tire pressure monitoring system, which, if not addressed, increases the risk of an accident. This issue can be resolved through a remote software update.

The tire pressure monitoring system warning light in the affected vehicles may not illuminate, failing to alert the driver about low pressure. The decrease in tire pressure is a common issue in cold weather, as noted by MarketWatch.

As of December 13, the automaker has received 76 warranty claims and one incident report related to the tire pressure monitoring problem.

"Tesla is not aware of any collisions, injuries, or fatalities related to this," the company stated.

The issue affects 694,300 Cybertrucks from the 2024 model year, Model 3 vehicles produced from 2017 to 2024, and Model Y vehicles from the 2020 to 2025 model years.

Tesla's stock prices are up 0.7% during Tuesday's pre-market session. The automaker's market value has soared more than 73% this year (to $1.38 trillion), while the Nasdaq Composite index has increased by nearly 32%.
