The price index for electricity during the base load period (BASE) on the "day-ahead" market (DSM) of Ukraine for 2024 amounted to 4,522.27 UAH/MWh, marking an increase of 34.1% (+1,148.75 UAH/MWh) compared to 2023, according to the analytical report from the State Enterprise "Market Operator" regarding the performance of the spot electricity market last year.
Meanwhile, the average weighted price for the purchase and sale of electricity on the DSM last year in Ukraine was recorded at 4,878.06 UAH/MWh. On the intraday market (IDM), the average weighted price accepted throughout 2024 was noted at 4,986.44 UAH/MWh.
"Trading volumes on the spot electricity market of Ukraine in 2024 reached 27.5 TWh, which is 22.6% higher than the trading volumes on DSM and IDM in 2023. Both DSM and IDM were predominantly in surplus throughout the year: the supply on the DSM exceeded demand by 1.3 times, and on the IDM by 2 times," the company reported on Thursday.
The value of electricity sold on the DSM in 2024 amounted to 146.861 billion UAH (including VAT), while on the IDM it was 14.286 billion UAH.
