Work.ua, one of the largest job search and recruitment websites in Ukraine, will cease collaboration with companies in the gambling industry for principled reasons, announced Work.ua CEO Artur Mikhno.
"We will do this today. We will ban all gambling, betting, and online casinos, as well as Sokar (the spelling is preserved from the author), which has tarnished its brand. They will no longer be on Work.ua," – wrote him on Facebook on Tuesday.
In August of last year, Mikhno stated that Work.ua would stop working with more than 20 companies listed by the National Agency for Preventing Corruption as international sponsors of the war (the list was later revoked), as well as those included in the Leave Russia list by the Kyiv School of Economics.
The head of Work.ua believes that collaborating with gambling businesses and companies that have not exited the Russian market during the war is "unworthy of any self-respecting business: from banks to media platforms," and he expressed disapproval regarding his main competitor – the site robota.ua and its head.
Mikhno acknowledged that continuing Work.ua's partnership with the gambling industry until today was a mistake, but he noted that the question of the existence of such businesses during the war is "not for us to decide."
