Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Moldovan President Maia Sandu issued a joint statement following their talks in Kyiv, in which they condemned the cessation of Russian gas supplies to Transnistria and affirmed the two countries' capability to ensure the region's energy security, reports the Office of the President of Ukraine on Saturday.
"We strongly condemned the intentional cessation of gas supplies to the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova by the Russian Federation, which has led to a humanitarian crisis. The parties reaffirmed their commitment and ability to provide urgent and concrete solutions to meet the energy needs of the residents of the Transnistrian region, prevent further escalation of the crisis, and restore basic services," the statement reads.
