Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal states that Ukraine will end 2024 in a state of financial stability.
"We are concluding 2024 in a state of financial stability. Thanks to taxes, fees, and domestic loans, we are fully financing our Defense Forces. With the help of our partners, we are covering civilian expenses," Shmyhal said during a government meeting on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister reminded that Ukraine has received over 16 billion euros from the European Union through the Ukraine Facility program, and nearly $5.4 billion from the cooperation program with the IMF.
"The support from the USA, the World Bank, Japan, Canada, and other partners is also significant. Direct budget support this year will amount to around $41 billion. We are grateful to all of Ukraine's friends for their solidarity. This enables us to fully meet all our obligations," he declared.
According to Shmyhal, over 510 billion UAH from the state budget has been allocated for social security in the first 11 months of 2024, 140 billion UAH for the state medical guarantees program, and 163 billion UAH for transfers to local budgets.
"We clearly understand where we will source funds next year. We expect to attract over $38 billion in external financing to cover essential non-military budget expenditures. We also anticipate receiving funds from frozen Russian assets," he added.
