За три года войны группа ArcelorMittal инвестировала $1 млрд в поддержку своего криворожского металлургического комбината, сообщил CEO компании.

The ArcelorMittal Corporation has provided $1 billion in support to its enterprise, Kryvorizhstal Mining and Metallurgical Plant PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" (AMKR, Dnipropetrovsk region), over the past three years, as reported by the CEO of AMKR, Mauro Longobardo.

According to him, the total amount of charitable assistance from "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" since the beginning of the war has exceeded 710 million UAH.

"Our main task in 2024 was to work against all challenges to ensure we can pay taxes and support communities. We have achieved this, in part, thanks to the support of our parent company. Over the last three years, the group has supported us with more than $1 billion, of which capital investments amounted to $0.3 billion," said the CEO, as quoted by the press service.

He added that as one of the largest taxpayers, we understand that these funds contribute to the country's defense capabilities and bring us closer to victory.

"But we also recognize our responsibility to the city, surrounding communities, and our employees. Despite the unprofitable financial results, we have done extensive work on the reintegration of veterans who returned to us after serving in the Armed Forces, supported the families of fallen colleagues, employees affected by enemy attacks, and assisted in the restoration of infrastructure facilities in various communities. We will continue to do everything possible to ensure Ukraine's victory and to begin reconstruction," the CEO noted.

The press release states that AMKR allocated over 60 million UAH in 2024 for community support and charitable assistance to those affected by the war. Throughout 2024, the main areas of the company’s social and charitable activities focused on assisting local communities and those affected by the war. The company concentrated its efforts on reducing internal costs and optimizing resource consumption, but despite the challenging financial situation, provided assistance to health and education institutions in Kryvyi Rih and the region.

A significant portion of the company's social assistance consists of support for the families of deceased employees, as well as those whose homes were destroyed or damaged due to enemy shelling: 35.55 million UAH was allocated for payments to the families of the deceased, and 6 million 406.3 thousand UAH for assistance to those affected by shelling. The company allocated 3.4 million UAH for the renovation of the neurology department of KP "Kryvorizhskaya Central District Hospital of Novopolskiy Village Council."

Assistance to educational institutions in the city amounted to over 1.8 million UAH. Among the key projects were the roof repair of Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Vocational College of GUET, the manufacture and installation of fencing for the arrangement of educational building No. 3 of GUET, and assistance in the renovation of classrooms and workshops for three Kryvyi Rih educational institutions: Kryvyi Rih Center for Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering Education, Kryvyi Rih Vocational Mining and Metallurgical Lyceum, and the Transport and Metallurgical Lyceum.

In 2024, AMKR continued to provide assistance to communities, allocating about 1 million UAH for their development. The company provided slag and gravel for the filling and repair of roads to restore the infrastructure of districts and rural territorial communities (to the Metallurgical District Council in the city, to the village of Kamyanka in Kryvyi Rih district for dam filling, and to Lozovatka and Sofiivka OTGs).

AMKR helped repair the water supply system in the village of Stepne in the Hrechanypodivska community and provided slag for road restoration in the Kherson region. The company also manufactured and installed a monument to fallen defenders in the village of Arkhangelske in the Beryslav district of Kherson region.

Additionally, the company provided 100,000 tons of blast furnace slag to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for the construction of departmental border roads. AMKR also provided assistance in various areas, primarily focused on working with the company's and city’s veterans and their reintegration into society. Key types of assistance included support for the city service office "Veteran" in setting up the newly created veteran hub, assistance in organizing a charity concert "With Faith in Victory," organizing an excursion trip for children with special needs to Kamianets-Podilskyi, and assistance to the "Union of Veterans" NGO.

Moreover, in 2024, with the support of Korn Ferry, the company developed and implemented the "Veterans' Return to Civil Life" project, which includes the organization of a coordination center for veterans based at the CNP "Single Window," the creation of inclusive workplaces with individual support for each veteran, rehabilitation programs for veterans at the company’s medical center and medical insurance, priority provision of vouchers for mobilized and demobilized employees, and subsidized meals in AMKR cafeterias.
