The President of the United States, Donald Trump, may decide to cease indirect support for Ukraine, which includes various forms of military funding, intelligence sharing, military and pilot training, and the placement of an international aid management call center at a U.S. military base in Germany, according to Politeka.
Following a recent dispute in the Oval Office, such actions would be perceived as a "shocking abandonment of a partner country" that is at war and would represent a "fatal blow to support."
The NYT reports that the Biden administration viewed the $67 billion military aid provided to Kyiv as significant; however, the current U.S. President, Donald Trump, sees any support as a "lever of pressure."
Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, deliveries of military equipment from the U.S. have been announced approximately every two weeks during the Biden administration, sometimes even with intervals of five to six days.
According to the Pentagon, of the amount that Congress approved to be additionally withdrawn from the Department of Defense, about $3.85 billion remains.
Additionally, it was reported that The Washington Post, citing a senior Trump administration official, stated that the White House is discussing the possibility of halting all current military aid supplies to Ukraine.
