Energoatom announced that the company has achieved a high level of emergency preparedness.

A meeting of the heads of structural divisions regarding emergency preparedness and response took place at the branch of the "Emergency Technical Center" of the State Enterprise "NAEK Energoatom," in collaboration with the company's management.

A meeting of the heads of structural divisions regarding emergency preparedness and response was held at the branch of "Emergency Technical Center" of JSC "NAEK "Energoatom" together with the company's management.

As reported by the company, the agenda included issues of civil defense, assessment of readiness for events that may occur around nuclear power plants, and interaction with the State Emergency Service in a state of martial law.

"All participants of the meeting demonstrated a high level of readiness to act in emergency conditions," NAEC stated in its Telegram channel on Thursday.

According to the head of "Energoatom," Petro Kotin, the company continuously improves its emergency response system, taking into account all possible threats.

"Energoatom" ensures a high level of emergency preparedness by adapting its approaches to new challenges arising from military threats from the Russian Federation. We closely cooperate with relevant services and international partners to guarantee the safety of our nuclear facilities under any conditions," he emphasized.

Currently, JSC "NAEK "Energoatom" operates nine power units at the South Ukraine, Rivne, and Khmelnytsky nuclear power plants with a total capacity of 7880 MW, located in the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The Zaporizhzhia NPP, with six VVER-1000 units and a total capacity of 6000 MW, has not generated electricity since September 11, 2022, after being occupied on March 3-4, 2022.
